Looking back at Science Night LIVE!
It's hard to believe that it's been five months since Science Night LIVE! lit up the Science Centre Heureka in Vantaa. Organized by E2 Research, Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and the Finnish Science Centre Heureka, this unique event brought together researchers, stakeholders, and the public for a night of science communication and networking. Today, we want to take a moment to look back at this remarkable event and unveil the abundance of the video footage that is now available on YouTube.
A night to remember
On March 29, 2023, Science Night LIVE! unveiled itself as a pioneering science communication event in Finland. Hosted entirely in English, it aimed to provide a stage for researchers from diverse backgrounds, who call Finland their home, to showcase their work. The event also fostered connections with key stakeholders, including the media, companies, organizations, and the broader scientific community. For the public, it offered a rare opportunity to delve into the latest research findings and captivating scientific subjects.
The event featured a lineup of researchers and stakeholder representatives from 20 universities and organizations spanning the entire Finland. They captivated the audience with panel discussions, an intense pitch competition, illuminating interviews, and interesting TED Talk-style presentations. Before taking the stage, our speakers honed their science communication skills through specialized training.
One of the hallmarks of Science Night LIVE! was its international and multidisciplinary nature. Over 160 attendees and 32 speakers from across Finland converged, with a special focus on artificial intelligence, sustainability, and social justice.
