    Megha Goswami and Kristaps Kovalonoks are better known as Couple of Expats. Originally from Latvia and India, they have first-hand knowledge of building a life in Finland and are familiar with the integration challenges that all foreigners face. Kristaps works in higher education during the day to actively promote the attraction and retention of international talents while also supporting innovative strategies to make Finnish universities more competitive globally. Megha works in the health tech industry in Turku, where she combines her passion for science and love for marketing. And together as bloggers they create content about life in Finland, integration in the Nordics, and living a healthy lifestyle.

  • Khalil Shahramian

    Eight years ago, Finland welcomed an ambitious dentist and entrepreneur from Iran. Today, Khalil Shahramian is both a doctoral alumnus from the institute of dentistry at University of Turku and an entrepreneur. Together with his Egyptian friend Tarek Omran, he founded a company called Science Pitchers and they have since trained over 1000 aspiring academics, innovators and entrepreneurs.

  • Kirsti “Kikka” Pohjaväre

    Kirsti “Kikka” Pohjaväre has coached presentation and media skills for business leaders, specialists and staff of various organizations. She works as a visiting teacher of journalism at the Haaga-Helia University for Applied Sciences. Previously, Kikka has worked as a lecturer in journalism at the University of Jyväskylä, director of Media and Communication Institute in Vierumäki and as a Communication Manager in Lahti2001 Ski World Championships. She has also been a radio and TV-journalist in Yle TV News and sports. She has scripted and directed TV-series and 10 dokumentaries. Kikka has a M.A. in journalism from the University of Minnesota and LitM degree from the University of Jyväskylä.

  • Atte Penttilä

    Atte is a cultural anthropologist with an international education and working background. Atte spent two years in Ethiopia, working in the field of agricultural development and agroforestry before embarking on a Ph.D. at the University of South Florida. He has studied for example, the political ecology of banana farming in Belize, food aid issues during the pandemic in Florida, and pandemic responses of global agricultural development actors. Recently, Atte returned to Finland after finishing his doctorate degree. He is a researcher at E2 Research, focusing on matters related to food systems, agriculture, and the environment.
